The beta build for October 29, 2011 is available on the beta download page.
This build unfortunately doesn't have any real cool new visible features, most of the work was to class functions that are working behind the scenes, you can expect some cool new features in the next build.
This build release is mainly the addition of some common UDK Landscape resolutions to the New and Resample dialogs, the addition of two new file formats and some fixups to nine of the existing formats, plus a large amount of refactoring to many of the base file import and export functions to improve their features and make them more robust.
This build also has a longer time limit before expiry.
The next build probably won't be available until sometime in late December, since some of the features that are planned for it will take more time to complete. The target is to have the File Split export function working, at least two new terrain Transform GeoTools completed, plus the initial Mask and Weightmap Editor functionality, and the initial Terrain Layout World Stack.
The existing Size and Void Fill Transform GeoTools also still need to have their preview completed, and it would be nice to have the multi-threading completed on all of the noise generators, but those features and the work on the erosion systems will all probably be two releases from now.
The Terrain Layout World Stack will finally move TerreSculptor into the area of a serious production tool, as it will allow layering, stacking, and editing of multiple heightmaps and GeoTools to construct complex terrain systems. It will include support for proper project file loading and saving. And the stack will eventually include a plethora of GeoMorph tools including spline-based deformation, roads, rivers, and many more cool and powerful tools.
For those of you readers who are keeping track, this project is coming up to year five in its full-time development, with currently more than 320,000 lines of code (all proprietary, no libraries).
